Cirrus Training Programs
Cirrus SR20-GTS Transition Training course
Our Cirrus Transition Training Course is designed to acclimate pilots to the technologically advanced environment of the Cirrus SR20 aircraft. We teach the same course a new owner would receive at the factory and are experts in aircraft equipped with Sandel, Avidyne, or Cirrus Perspective systems.
A completion certificate, which will be issued when the course has been passed, meets the training requirement for most insurance companies that provide insurance for Cirrus aircraft.
We can train owners, new pilots, and even non-pilot flying partners.
The Cirrus Transition Course is a minimum of 10 hours. Average 12–15 hours. Please contact us for details. Cost approximately $4000-5,000*
Cirrus Recurrent Training
To meet insurance requirements, Cirrus pilots need to complete the Cirrus Standardized annual currency training program. Our instructor will ensure you receive a challenging and learning-packed refresher on VFR/IFR procedures, Emergencies, and Avionics.
Flight Review (Biannual)
Every 24 calendar months, all pilots need to complete a Flight Review and must include a minimum of one hour of flight and one hour of ground training. Our instructor knows the Cirrus inside and out and can refresh your memory on all the systems, maneuvers, and emergency procedures which are crucial to being a proficient pilot.
Instrument Proficiency Check
Remember how to perform a procedure turn, DME arc, or parallel hold entry? Are you familiar with all the useful functions of your autopilot or GPS? Let our expert instructor help you maintain proficiency with one of the most advanced aircraft in the General Aviation world!
*Cost will vary by pilot.
Prices subject to change without notice.

Integrated Private and Instrument Course—a blending of the Private and Instrument Pilot Courses
We’ll train you from a zero-time student pilot to private pilot and instrument pilot in this special course that saves you time and money.
Scanlon Aviation uses a three-tiered approach:
1. Scenario-Based training—pilot training includes the context of real-world operations and real-world problem solving.
2. Learner Centered Training—with your instructor you will track and evaluate your progress and evolution as a pilot.
3. Single Pilot Resource Management (SRM)—SRM teaches a pilot how to safely and effectively manage the information and expanded capability of aircraft like the Cirrus.
